Dame Kiri Te Kanawa Sings Mozart and R. Strauss


This collection of Dame Kiri's recording of Mozart and Richard Strauss aria's is marvelous. It's sound is well balanced, the sequencing is perfect. Overall it is a satisfying collection for all fans of the great Dame Kiri Te Kanawa.

Although I own every recording Dame Kiri has released of Mozart's opera, and recital arias - one which I put together and titled "Kiri's Mozart Sketchbook" and has 33-tracks, this collection is perfect. For me, though, it is the Richard Strauss tracks presented here that are the standout recordings. They are so beautifully crafted and beautifully sung by Dame Kiri. The music alone is luscious and Dame Kiri's voice is beautiful to listen to as always.

One might think they've heard this project before, but, as much of Dame Kiri Te Kanawa's work that I own, this collection is not the same as anything I have ever heard. I recommend it to all classic music lovers, those who love well crafted recordings, and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa.

This is a project Dame Kiri Te Kanawa can be proud of. 10 stars.
